But in most cases, the package finally shakes loose and is delivered. As for researching it, there's really nothing you can do. And USPS won't even consider the package lost for another week or so. That has "unstuck" many non-moving packages for me. The OP did not mail the package. It would be up to the seller to file and collect on any insurance they might have on the package.

The seller is the one with the contract with the carrier. I just this week put the tracking into USPS on an item I purchased and it is on its way after spending 2 weeks at a sort center in Texas.

Either party can put a tracking number into the system and ask for e-mail updates!

Does anyone know what "in transit to next facility" means? Report this Post to the Staff. I see packages make stops in locations locally before they are finally delivered on a regular basis. I have seen that too.

However, in this case it does not state that the package has stopped anywhere - simply "in transit to next facility. I think this is normal.

Sorry about that. I typically see that on all my orders, when leaving one county or state and moving to the next stop before your local post office is when I see this.

This is always unsettling to see..............

You will probably receive two updates back to back. Arrived at local facility and then arrived at local destination facility. That's what I normally see anyway. Hope that helps. Proud member of the Black Sheep Squadron! My goal in life is to live forever, so far so good!

If you don't want to regret your past, don't screw up in the future because the future, inevitably, becomes the past! I'll shoot him an email. When you are waiting for a courier, your package goes through 5 stages of the tracking process. The package is accepted, in transit, out for delivery, delivered and status not available respectively.

Let us try to solve this mystery. So basically the package has left the seller or the packing facility. It has also been picked up by the carrier. But it has not reached its destination yet. There are many facets to this. In transit means your package can be at any stage — handed over to the carrier, departed from its origin country, arrived at destination country but pending customs, passed customs but in local transportation or is at another stopover country and is yet to reach the destination country.

More often than not the delivery time mentioned by the courier is an estimated time of delivery. There are many courier services that guarantee to deliver a package within the stipulated time. But such couriers are very less. The standard ones give out a date estimation on the basis of the route and distance the package has to travel.

Actually, the package can take less or sometimes more time to reach you than mentioned. Very rarely it happens that the package is stuck in transit but the status does not change. All in all, there will be irregularities with your delivery date.

You will notice that your parcel is not moving ahead. It is either kept at one of the company depots or in custom. It is like a traffic jam for packages. But that is also temporary of course! In some time, the package is released and it continues its transit towards its destination. Any package arriving from another country needs to pass the custom before it can be delivered to the recipient.

The package should also contain a commercial invoice. So if there is no commercial invoice or there is a huge cargo coming in at the same time and the processing takes time, your package can get held at the customs.

It will be cleared eventually but will reach you at a later date than the estimated delivery date. If there is an absence of the commercial invoice, then there is a surcharge that needs to be paid before the package is further cleared.

If the parcel is over-sized or over-weight, then the package is usually returned to the shipper. It is important to provide the right size and weight to the courier company. The carrier may not notice the difference right away. But eventually, the inconsistency comes to light and then the parcel is returned. This could obviously cause a delay in delivering the parcel to you.

package stuck in transit to next facility

Mistakes happen rarely with the couriers, but they can happen. Especially when there are thousands of packages to pack per day. Thus, it may happen that the label on the parcel may fall off or get damaged at some point. This may take the courier company some time to work out whom the parcel belongs to. If you change the delivery address after the parcel has left the seller, then the package can take extra time to reach you.

So if you want your package to arrive on the delivery date then you should avoid address changes after the parcel has gone in transit. For ample reasons like a damaged parcel, forbidden goods or even improper packing, the parcel can become undeliverable.Share best practices, tips, and insights.

Meet other eBay community members who share your passions. I recently sold a lot of blurays, but item has been stuck in transit for 2 weeks now and tracking has not updated.

This is the first time this has happened to me as a seller I'm worried USPS lost the package and I might have to refund buyer. If anybody can help me out on this matter, please help! Go to Solution. I've had this happen a few times.

UPS SCAM EXPOSED! - Don't get tricked by this!

I called mine and their local post offices to open a case for a missing item. Basically, that meant nothing.

Python send email every hour

Best advice I can give is to keep your customer updated and assure them that you are checking every morning to see where it's at. It's actually because of this happening twice that I decided not to opt into the eBay guaranteed delivery. Just from the post office messing up, eBay would have instantly taken money from me and refunded the buyer their shipping. No thank you! View solution in original post. First, I'd give it another week to resurface.

Sometimes this kind of thing happens, but it's not a permanent disappearance. Second, if the buyer hasn't contacted you, you don't have a problem, regardless of what the tracking may or may not say. If the buyer received the package as expected, they're not going to go checking the tracking to notice anything wrong, so don't contact them to ask if they received it.

Yes the buyer has contacted me told her that I'm monitoring the situation. The thing about Media Mail is that it's a low-priority class of service. These days, there is usually no problem with speed of delivery, but potentially delays can happen because higher priority classes of mail will get loaded onto the truck first.

Was this a set, or a single disc? Single discs are light enough so that you can send them First Class without that much difference in cost. I have had to change my shipping time.

Sorry Hope it gets better for you all! Set of 4 Blurays. I usually use first class, but with this order I used media mail to save some money on shipping costs. But this is the first time that I had a package essentially gone missing since tracking hasn't updated in days. Your advice was correct after 3 weeks they found the package and was delivered today! Just have to stay on top of it contacting local P. I think you presume too much. If something I ordered from a US seller took 3 weeks, I'd be pretty annoyed.

Of course buyer was annoyed, but it was USPS mishandling that was the problem since they took forever to deliver package. Fortunately buyer was very patient and understanding of situation. Again, this thread is for those whose items seem to be stuck in transit for weeks and what action to take since I found successful solution to this matter.

Unfortunately many buyers are not so sympathetic and will neg a seller for circumstances beyond their control like this.

We're all having this problem, I've opened a few threads on it. I live in Ft Lauderdale, FL. I spoke to consumer affairs and she said there are problems at the Miami sort facility, but this is a nationwide issue. I've contacted ebay, and every time I call they act like they don't know anything about it.It is currently in transit to the next facility. PCGS bound.

The Government has been sucking the Postal Service profits dry almost ever since I started in August, No one understands. The Post Office was never designed to make any money. It was a Department of the Government for cryin' out loud! UPS sucked the profitable parcel business away long ago.

Just the profitable ones.I ordered two different items for my layout from two different hobby shops in two different parts of the country in the first week of February and both were shipped the next day to my home in the Chicago area. But, I have yet to receive either item.

package stuck in transit to next facility

The other item was shipped on February 11th, traveled less than miles in two days and just sat there, then was reported "In Transit To The Next Facility" on February 13th with no further report since that date.

I sold something on ebay and it went to Phoenix from MD in 3 days and took another 4 days to go to Tuscon. Having two addresses can be a problem, especially now that UPS hands of items to USPS, I forget what they service they call that, but I have had things I've ordered, sent back to the sender as "Undeliverable". I also tried to ask the place that I buy stuff from, how they ship, so I can give them the right address.

This is very stange. USPS is my favorite shipper. In my experience I almost always get my item within a week.

In the most recent instance, my ebay item arrived from all the way across the US in 2 days!!! Hopefully this problem is only temperary for you I'm beginning to realize that Windows 10 and sound decoders have a lot in common. There are so many things you have to change in order to get them to work the way you want. Though very few items I've purchased from various on-line merchants take an inordinate amount of time to arrive, I've often wondered why the USPS uses such vague, meaningless terms as "on the way to next facility" in a tracking service.

Just a year or two ago, it was much more common to see an item's exact location by city and state. It looks like the system has simply been dumbed down, making it nearly pointless. Did arrive in a reasonable amount of time from shipping date though. I don't believe USPS tracking anymore, since it claimed my package was in some distant city, while it had actually been delivered.

Another time, I filed a search request and they got back to me and admitted they could not find the package. I eventually got it, but what is wrong? HOmainline Yep, that's puzzled me as well. MisterBeasley I don't believe USPS tracking anymore, since it claimed my package was in some distant city, while it had actually been delivered.

Very funny re: the USPS! I had three orders in to the same retailer. One USPS priority was received yesterday, several days before it was scheduled and even though the order was place after the UPS ground order. Who knows how all this happens. Funny that this is being discussed.
